The 2007-2008 Abbott Tech Boys Basketball Team completed one of the most successful seasons in recent memory, but it did not start out that way. The team suffered 6 straight losses to open the season 0-6. From that point on the team turned things around and would only lose 2 more times the remainder of the season. The team won 15 straight games and won the CSC West Division title.  Abbott Tech lost in the semi-finals of the CSC tournament losing at the buzzer to eventual champion Capitol Prep Magnet School of Hartford.

The team was led by three All-CSC players, senior Gary Breeden, and sophomores Joe Groski and Rick Paez. Abbott's season continued into the CIAC Class M tournament where Abbott defeated Montville HS in the opening round. Abbott advanced to the second round and soundly defeated their next opponent, Ledyard HS. The run ended in the quarter-finals where Abbott was defeated by Bethel HS completing a 17-8 season. One of the proudest accomplishments for the team this year was being awarded the Harold Swaffield Sportsmanship Award by the referees association, IAABO9.
