Connecticut’s BioBus brings the excitement of bioscience research to Henry Abbott Technical High School May 13 & 14, 2009. Biology teachers Therese Hanna and Eric Sawyer will join the BioBus staff to lead students in an experiment from the BioBus Educational Programs’ award-winning curriculum.
“The students are looking forward to the visit,” Eric Sawyer said. “It’s an exceptional opportunity to conduct inquiry science in a professional setting.”
The students
will participate in Glowing from Permutation (A Bacterial Transformation
Investigation) and Hunting the Immune Villain (Using ELISA to diagnose
HIV)
Outfitted with the latest in bioscience equipment and state-of-the-art computers, Connecticut’s BioBus is a 40-foot-long mobile science learning center designed to foster the excitement of scientific discovery. The BioBus curriculum includes several experiments designed for students in grades 4 through 12 as well as an experiment for adults aimed at a general audience. |
