Junior Plumbing and Heating students attended the Connecticut Construction Career Day 2008 at Mountain Ridge Resort in Wallingford, Connecticut.  Students explored construction career opportunities by participating in demonstrations and talking with union leaders, college representatives, federal and state agency staff members, and business leaders.  Hands-on activities engaged the students as they operated State of Connecticut DOT trucks, backhoes, and machinery, climbed telephone poles and scaled trees, assembled wooden tool boxes, stamped concrete and riveted screws into metal studs.  Students enjoyed learning about the many construction career opportunities.
