The main role of the school resource officer is
to ensure the safety and security of all the students, faculty
and staff. Trooper
McGran is an active member of the Student Assistance Team and works
with the administration, guidance department and staff to assist
with any problem or concern that is brought to his attention.
He is very involved with the students
and the staff. On
numerous occasions he has been asked to give presentations on such
topics as safe driving, DWI, laws of arrest, civil unrest, gangs
and drug awareness. The
presentations have been made to not only the students, but to faculty
and the Parent Teacher Organization as well.
Summarizing his responsibilities, Trooper McGran says, "My role
as the “Resource
Officer” means
just that. I
am a resource for the students, and their family. I have
an open door policy which means anyone at any time can come into
my office to discuss any issue; school related or not."
