Drafting Students Participating in New Program Introducing Engineering Concepts

Cheney Tech Computer Aided Drafting and Design is very proud to have joined the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) family. Through efforts by Principal Bruce Sievers and Assistant Principal Bob Sartoris and in agreement with CADD Instructor John Hoyle and CADD Department Head Fred Huhn we have begun integrating the PLTW course into the CADD curriculum.

PLTW has developed a four year sequence of courses which, when combined with college preparatory mathematics and science courses in high school, introduces students to the scope, rigor and discipline of engineering and engineering technology prior to entering college.

The courses are:
• Introduction to Engineering Design (9th)
• Principles of Engineering (10th)
• Digital Electronics (11th)
• Computer Integrated Manufacturing (11th) or
• Civil Engineering and Architecture (11th)
• Engineering Design and Development (12th)
