Cheney Tech welding students qualified to compete in the 2007 Notch
Pipe Welding Challenge in Chicopee, Massachussetts which was held
on Saturday, May 05, 2007. The contestants were: Melissa Farnham
(Senior), Andrew James (Senior), James Unitis (Senior), and Steve
Gourley (Junior). Melissa Farnham placed second in a field of 64
applicants and 12 contestants. She also qualified to obtain her
A.S.M.E. 1GR pipe welding certification at the Notch Pipe Welding
Challenge.
