On Saturday, April 25, 2009, a crew of teachers and students (21 in all) participated in Rebuilding Together New Britain Day.  This is an annual event that takes place to help out those in need (specifically, the elderly, the disabled and the financially-disadvantaged) with home repairs they simply cannot do themselves and also cannot afford to have done for them.

It was a most successful day as we arrived on site at 7:30 a.m. and the work did not stop until 4:30 p.m.  With the leadership of our shop teachers Mr. Cyr, Mr. Casey, Mr. Thiede and Mr. Hany, and the excellent guidance of our Green Club Advisors, Mr. Pudlo and Ms. Ruel, our Goodwin student volunteers showed off their true Gladiator spirit by brightening the life of an individual in need.   We accomplished everything from carpentry to plumbing repairs to electrical work, painting and even a some landscaping. 

As House Captain, my job was easy:  supervise and take pictures!  Everyone had a great time, and the feeling of satisfaction for doing a good deed did not soon go away.
