The photos show the products of the students' hard work. Solar cookers can reach temperatures that exceed
212 degrees Fahrenheit - the boiling point of water. In our tests were verified that we could reach the temperatures
required to cook smores!
I am very proud of how my students were able to create functional cooking devices from recycled materials.
Along the way they learned that these cookers are a necessity in some countries where food and liquids must be
heated to at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit to kill bacteria as well as learning that the sun is a powerful
source of renewable and non-polluting energy.
Thanks for visiting E.C.Goodwin!!!
