C. Goodwin’s Second Annual Parent Social was held on Thursday,
May 17 from 6 to 8 PM. Students, parents, and teachers got together
for this lovely event to celebrate many successes of English Language
Learners and the entire school community.
The evening started with a reception in our Garden Room where
guests enjoyed baked goods, coffee, and soft drinks. It was followed
with a brief overview of the interpretation of LAS Links results,
a vivid PowerPoint presentation on the construction progress,
and a mini-series of parenting skills, which for last night was
“The Value of the Family Meal”.
In addition, we informed parents about Adult Education opportunities
here at Goodwin, as well as the Summer Reading Program. We concluded
with presenting our students with Certificates of Achievement
and a drawing of many valuable door prizes. In summary, it was
yet another successful attempt to build a connected and caring
community.
