On June 2nd, the Diloreto Dual Language Elementary School thanked the E.C. Goodwin National Honor Society (NHS) students for helping them through the Read To Someone Special Program.
NHS students have been visiting Diloreto throughout the year, reading to the kindergartners along with first and second grade students. To show their appreciation, the Diloreto staff and students presented the Goodwin students with a performance and gifts they created in their classrooms.
In the spirit of an ongoing exchange, the NHS students served snacks and refreshments to the elementary students. In addition, each K-2 students received a book of their own to take home. (The books and the snacks were purchased with a community grant from the local Wal-Mart).
A special thanks goes out to Ms. Kiel, NHS Director, Ms.
Shevchenko, counselor, Ms. Cion, special education,
and Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez, School Social Worker for all the work they have done for the Read To Someone Special program.
