Senior Electromechanical Technology student Keith Sziabowski took
on a special assignment recently. His teacher Steve Orie asked him
to repair a vintage RCA Victrola for a customer. Keith had to work
on the arm of the antique record player which was made in 1920.
He said that he really enjoyed working on the assignment demonstrating
how the player works by cranking the arm on the side. Keith also
said that he was impressed that after 90 years the player was still
working like brand new. "I wonder if any electronic components
made today will work 90 years from now," he said.
