Students
in the Electronics Technology program at Goodwin Tech are one
of the first high schools in the country receiving training
in DHTI or Digital Home Technology Integration. The students
are learning the installation, integration and troubleshooting
of several interconnected subsystems within the new "smart
home" in which entertainment, security, automation, and
communications subsystems are planned, designed, installed
and managed as a single system.
Electronics Technology Department Head Stan Jarosz received
training in Digital Home Technology Integration from Heathkit
Educational Systems in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Jarosz said
that his students will be working with students in the Electrical
Department on production assignments where they will be installing
components of DHTI.
