This
year, on June 8-9th, the Student Leadership Training Program
(SLTP) and Nichols College are partnering to offer the S-T-A-R-T
Conference for 9th grade students throughout southern New England. S-T-A-R-T,
which stands for Students Taking Active Responsibility Today,
was created to value, acknowledge, motivate and cultivate young
adults' potential for active leadership roles in their schools
and communities. The conference is a highly interactive
2-day program. SLTP and Nichols bring together distinguished
leaders of the community, from various sectors, for informal
workshops, so that the student delegation will get a realistic
look at our nation, people, and role in the world community.
Electrical student, Brittany Murray and Hospitality and Customer Service student Lekeisha Taylor will represent Grasso Tech at the conference. The girls were chosen from the candidates presented by trade area faculty members. Grades and attendance were used in addition to their recommendations in order to make these choices.
The students are enthusiastically anticipating the upcoming event. Grasso Tech is proud to have Brittany and Lekeisha represent our school. |
