Chris Campbell is a senior in Automotive Technology. He maintains high academic and shop grades and is currently ranked #1 for the Class of 2008. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is a representative for the Student Council.
He is Co-Captain of the Indoor and Outdoor track teams and a member of the varsity cross country team.
As any well-rounded athlete, Chris gives back to his community by volunteering in the New London School system by tutoring bilingual and special education students after school. He also works as wait staff at the Port and Starboard restaurant.
Emily Borden is a senior in the Bioscience Environment Technology trade. She maintains a 3.4 GPA.
She is the co-captain of the Volleyball Team which reached the top spot of the CSC League. Emily was chosen for the first team for the conference. During her sophomore year she was awarded the Most Improved award and was given the Coaches Award in her senior year. She also is co-captain of the Indoor track team and received 3rd place award for shot putt at the championships. She is co-captain of the softball team. During freshman, sophomore and junior year, she was selected for the all-conference team and achieved MVP for her sophomore and junior year conference teams. During her junior year she received the MVP award.
Emily has many school activities in which she participates. She is a member of the Skills USA, achieving 3rd place in Grade 9, and finalist in Grade 10, First place in Grade 11 and a ranking of 16th in Nationals. Her academic achievements include Most Outstanding Award in Computer. She also achieved a certification in United States Coast Guard Cold Water Emersion.
Emily also gives back to her community. She coaches in the senior league (ages 14-16) softball league in her town of Pawcatuck. She is a member of REACT, a student ministry organization at her local church. In addition, she volunteers for Thames River Garden Club's annual Plant Sale and works with Alzheimer's patients at the Atrium Assisted living home in Rocky Hill.
