GRASSO
TECH STUDENT OF THE YEAR HONORED
Senior
Liz Arpin has been named Grasso Tech's Student of the Year.
Liz came to Grasso Tech in her ninth grade year with full
intentions of becoming a chef. After exploratory she was torn
between the shop she came for and the shop she eventually
chose.
As a Bio-Environmental Technology student Liz has surpassed
all expectations. She is a volunteer at the Mystic Aquarium,
has interned at the DNA Epicenter in New London, holds multiple
certifications in her field, has undergone many training exercises
in the environmental field, was named Grasso Tech’s
2007 Student of the Year and even had the chance to meet her
idol Dr. Henry Lee.
She is a three sport athlete and has served as captain on
the Cross Country, Rifle and Track team. Liz is an exceptional
leader and model for all students to follow. She is attending
Ohio Northern University in the fall on a partial academic
scholarship majoring in the field of forensic science.
Liz,
along with Students of the Year from the other 17 Technical
High Schools, was honored at the annual Students of the
Year Luncheon at Platt Technical High School on Thursday,
May 31st. Congratulations Liz!
