Minutes

November 1, 2007

 

Attendees:  John Blake; Maggie Delaporta; Suzanne Matteson; Turhan Papadopoulos; Jack Cervera; JoAnn Ammons; Denise James; James McPherson.

 

Meeting called to order at 6:40 p.m.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Mr. Papadopoulos reported that there was $474.37 in savings.  The PFO will be reimbursing parents/students with financial problems for monies paid for uniforms.  Grasso’s Student Assistance Fund should reimburse the PFO.  Jack Cervera made a motion to accept; Sue Matteson seconded.

 

Secretary’s Report:  Mr. Cervera noted an error in scholarship amount for BET.  The scholarship amount is $6,000 and $11,000 is being given for supplies and equipment for the shop.  Sue Matteson made a motion to accept minutes with change; Jack Cervera seconded.

 

Sports Boosters:  Sue Matteson said they are selling a lot of sweatshirts.  Jack Cervera mentioned hooded sweatshirts are not allowed in school.  Sue Matteson will talk to Kerry Bell to clarify policy.

 

School Store/Uniforms:  Not selling much except for sweatshirts.  There is a lot of inventory.  Diego is owed money for uniforms.  There are extra Henley shirts

 

Grad Party:  Mrs. Borden and Mrs. Wilson are chairing the meeting tonight.  Between teachers and parents, approximately 11 people are at that meeting.

 

Homecoming:  Tabled.

 

By-Laws:  Tabled.

 

Flags:  Tabled.

 

Fundraisers:  Tabled.

 

Craft Show:  $292.50 was made for drawing and food sales one day.  A final profit has not yet been totaled.  Paid the custodians $350.  JoAnn Ammons suggested not doing the craft show next year.  Crafters want ads – too expensive.

 

Open House:  Scheduled for Thursday, November 8th from 6-8.  PFO needs table.  Sue Matteson will work at it.  Can’t find sign for open house.  Jack Cervera indicated that it is at Groton Utilities.

 

Open to the Floor: 

  • Culinary is selling pies for Thanksgiving.  You can order through November 13th.
  • Student Council sponsoring a nerf-ball event November 16th.  PFO can sell food.
  • Sue Matteson suggested setting something up for FAFSA.
  • The next meeting scheduled for December 6th will include pot luck holiday party.  Everyone can bring something.

 

Jack Cervera made a motion to adjourn at 7:20.  Maggie Delaporta seconded.
