Recently, the Auto Collision and Repair students were treated to an appearance of a rare car. Shown here, students were provided an opportunity to see first hand a K-1 Attack car.  The car was brought in by a Drafting student's family member.

This car is a tube tube chasis kit car and utilizes a Honda Drivetrain and steering.  It is capable of many engine conbinations per customer request (built specific to the customer's needs) including hybrid technology.  It weighs about 1800 lbs, has 220 horsepower, and motorized vertical doors. Students were told it costs $60,000 turnkey (built for you) or they can buy it in kit form and do it yourself. 

This expanded the students' knowledge of car building and working with drafting design from the design (kit) end.
