Grasso students participated in a troop support care package drive for the holidays. Students donated candy, snacks, toiletries, DVDs and even dog treats for the K-9 patrols! Items were shipped to our servicemen and women in Afghanistan and Iraq for the holidays. Grossman’s Seafood and the organization Friends at EB Troop Support Group covered the shipping cost overseas.
Pictured below are representatives from the armed forces, Grossman’s and Friends at EB during a thank you presentation for our Freshmen class. Lieutenant Colonel Robert Burnside, Staff Sergeant Dennis Lavallee (CT AVCRAD), Mr. Bill Dodge, Mr. Don Miller (Friends at EB), Mr. Christian Porter, Mr. Sean Coleman and Mr. Chris Aldrich (Grossman’s) shared letters of gratitude from the troops as well as photographs of our servicemen and women. Also on display was a sample care package. Lt. Col. Burnside spoke of how wonderful it was to receive a care package because it felt like a little bit of home.
Grasso students contributed enough donations to fill over 40 care packages and helped Friends at EB reach their holiday goal. Thank you Grasso students! Keep up the good work! |
