Kaynor
Tech Students Present Their Findings at Harbor Seal Symposium
A
group of students and staff representing Kaynor Tech attended
the Seventh Annual Harbor Seal Symposium held on June 9th, 2007
in the IMAX Theatre at The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Kaynor Tech is the only original group that has presented all
seven years. Schools from Connecticut and New Jersey presented
their year long seal studies and global related issues at The
Symposium.
Kaynor Tech students Bryan Daniels, Ashlyn Smith and Anthony Spinelli
along with Co-Advisors Barbara Marroquin and Caren Menard, presented
their topic of research on “Why are there more seals at
Fisher’s Island than Sheffield Island?” The high-tech
presentation was presented on the IMAX screen as the group described
their results and showed graphs of their data. Much of the data
was collected from research on boat cruises during the winter
months when the seals are present in Long Island Sound. The information
was then organized on an advanced Power Point presentation which
included satellite photos and animations. The program was well
received. See
previous story on Kaynor Tech students' participation in Harbor
Seal Study.
