GIRLS
TEAM
The Girls Track Team was the Western Division Champions for
the fifth year in a row and finished Runner-Up in the Constitution
State Conference Championships held in May. Senior Captains
Shannan Grant and Fallon Coster guided the team to a 15-4 regular
season record. Halima Hutchinson and Brianna Majette qualified
for the State Class “S” Championship meet and led
a talented team of athletes which includes too many names to
mention. Ngareischa Jackson became Kaynor’s only “All-League”
team representative when she captured the 300 Hurdles title
at the CSC Championships. Congratulations on a fine season ladies.
BOYS
TEAM
The Boys
Track Team won the Western Division Championship and finished
third in the Constitution State Conference Championship this
year finishing with a record of 17-4.
City
Meet
Ray Arzu placed 2nd in the high jump, Ezra Bastien placed 2nd
in the high hurdles and 3rd in the intermediate hurdles, Mark
Spellman 3rd in the long jump, and Cedric Stevenson placed 2nd
in the discus and 3rd in the javelin.
CSC
League Meet
Ray Arzu placed 2nd in the high jump, Ezra Bastien placed 2nd
in the high hurdles, and Mark Spellman placed 1st in the triple
jump, 1st in the long jump, and 3rd in the high jump.
Class
M State Meet
Nine athletes qualified this year: the most athletes Kaynor
has sent in fifteen years. Ray Arzu qualified for the high jump,
Ezra Bastien qualified for the high hurdles and the intermediate
hurdles, Cedric Stevenson and Franklin Reyes qualified for the
discus, Mark Spellman qualified for the long jump, Jonathan
Luis qualified for the 100 m and the 4x100m relay team qualified,
consisting of Ezra Bastien, Jonathan Luis, Brandon Draper, and
Joshua Davila.
Ray
Arzu placed 3rd in the high jump to qualify for the state open.
Mark Spellman placed 2nd in the long jump, missing first place
by ½ an inch. He also qualified for the state open.
Mark
Spellman broke a 14 year old record in the high jump by jumping
6’ 4 ¼”
This
