Students and staff at Kaynor participated in a Diversity Day on Friday, February 6th. The event was organized to celebrate the rich multitude of cultures represented by the student population. Exhibits were set up in the new atrium with samples of food, music, and art from a wide variety of cultures. Students also created colorful posters for the day communicating the importance of multiculturalism in our society.

One of the highlights of the day was a presentation by students and staff from Prince Technical High School of Hartford. Coordinated by instructor Deidre Shaw, the Prince Tech group put on a combination multicultural fashion and dance show for the appreciative Kaynor Tech audience. Students wore traditional clothing from every corner of the world and performed dances from India, Israel, Latin America and China. Kaynor Tech students got to participate in several of the dances and tried their hand at a myriad of folk musical instruments. Overall, the day was a great success enjoyed by everyone.
