Skills USA

Skills USA is a nation wide club that prepares students for the world of work. As a Skills USA member each student is entitled to participate in leadership training and also has the opportunity to compete in his or her trade with other Skills USA members around the state. As a Kaynor Skills USA member we participate in social, community and leadership activities.

ACTIVITIES

Kaynor Tech Participates in Annual Community Service Day

A group of Kaynor Tech's chapter of SkillsUSA participated in the Annual Day of Community Service on Friday, October 5th. This year students cleaned up Hancock Brooke Trail in Waterbury. See photo highlights of the project.

 

Kaynor Tech Does Well at State SkillsUSA Competition

Kaynor Tech did very well at this year's State SkillsUSA Competition held at Platt Technical High School in Milford on Friday, March 30, 2007. Fashion Technology swept the medals in their event with Tyla Johnson taking 1st Place, Jannette Santiogo came in 2nd place and Andrea Conceicao took 3rd place. Also Becky Davino, Nicole Goodman and Alisha Wallace were Fashion Tech Finalists. Drafting also had two medal winners with Jake Eastwood winning the gold and Ryan Walsh taking the bronze. Aaron Beck also placed as a finalist in the Drafting event. Kaynor Tech's Quiz Bowl team of Hugo Alvia, Clint Brandien, Bob Harisi, Tom Hettel, and Jose Luna-Peguero took home the 3rd place trophy. Congratulations to all of the students who competed representing Kaynor Tech!
