PFO/BOOSTER CLUB

APRIL 6, 2009

MINUTES

 

Meeting was called to order at 5:32 by Arnie Giroux.

OFFICERS: President-vacant, Dana Wynn, Vice President- absent, Cindy McKeon, Secretary- present, Loree Giroux, Treasurer- present.QUORUM: Dr. Menounos, Lori Peeples, Deb. Krodel, Tim Krodel, Vincent Frietta, Jennifer Grillo February Minutes were reviewed by all in attendance. Dr. Menouons motioned. Deb Krodel second. All were in favor. FINANCIAL REPORT:  Actual checking account balance as of April 4, 2009 is $9,142.02. Art Class has $0.00 but will donate $800.00 for their trip. Boys Basketball has $742.62. Cheerleaders have 0.00. Music class has $1497.80. Softball has $47.00. Baseball has 0.00. Total is $2,299.42.  Dr. Menounos motioned to accept the Financial Report. Deb Krodel second the motion, all were in favor. 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

  1. Senior Cookbook- Would like to do the cookbook through Graphics Art Department and not Thames Printing. The charge would only include the supplies. Will look into having it done by open house if the necessary machines are operating. PFO T-Shirts: still waiting for the student to finish the graphic corrections needed to complete.
  2. Loree Giroux contacted Prides Corner to supply plants and flowers for a fundraiser this spring. Discussed if there was enough time and a location. Will ask the Retail Shop and Graphics Shop for their help in putting together the flyers. PFO will pay for the postage to send flyers out to families. Also can use morning announcements, homerooms and front board to get the word out.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Coach Frietta would like to do 3 more fundraisers this spring for the baseball team. Selling candy bars, having a hat day and a baseball yearbook were some of the ideas that were brought up. This will help defray the cost of purchasing addiotonal 6 uniforms for the team and a trip to the batting cage. Coach Frietta made motion. Arnie seconded. All were in favor. Jennifer Grillo would like to send three students to the Skills USA Nationals. This will cost $5,000. They have been holding fundraisers throughout the year. They are asking the PFO to sponsor a Café Express fundraiser. Arnie Giroux made motion. Dr. Menounos seconded. All were in favor. A request to conduct a craft bazaar for October or November for Skills USA to be sponsored by the PFO. Fees for vendor spaces and admission would generate income as well as conducting raffles for services for each shop. Shops could have their own space to promote their trade and culinary could sell snacks. Custodial services would be the only expense. Arnie made motion. Deb Krodel seconded. All were in favor.
  • Basket Raffle: State regulations are too difficult to do this year. Could be done next year in the Café or auditorium.

 

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT: Uniforms: meetings with selected students and faculty have been taking place. A letter will go out this spring to inform families. A vendor will be at the school on designated dates to help with questions. Having occasional dress down days was also discussed. The sculpture out in front of the school will be assembled during the April vacation.  

Arnie adjourned the meeting at 6:29. Deb Krodel second. All were in favor.
