P.F.O./Booster Club

September 21, 2009

Minutes

 

Meeting was called to order by Arnie Giroux at 5:36.

 

Officers: President - vacant, Vice president- Dana Wynn- absent,  Treasurer - Loree Giroux-present, Secretary- Cindy McKeon- present

 

Quorum: Dr. Menounos, Ms. Cronin, Karen O’Donelle, Loree Giroux, Arnie Giroux, Bob DuBois, Karen Edwards, Mike Garcia, Bill Henderson,  and Cindy McKeon

 

Minutes from June were read and accepted, motion made by Arnie Giroux to accept, seconded by Bob DuBois, all in favor.

 

Financial Report: Statement balance as of August 31, 2009: $6647.34 (4 outstanding  checks totaling $40.00)Actual checking account balance as of September 18, 2009: $7297.34. Art Class balance- $0.00. Boys Basketball- $746.26. Cheerleaders - $0.00. Music Class - $753.88. Softball - $0.00. Baseball - $0.00. Skills USA - $585.00.  Actual balance less accounts is $5212.20.

 

Old Business

  • Notices about the next PFO meeting will be sent out with the next mailing to the students homes.
  • The transition for the new uniform policy has gone smoothly.

 

New Business: 

  • Music Department’s main fundraiser this year will be cookie dough between October 1st - 16th This will help offset the costs for the New York City trip in March. They also will charge for this years spring concert. The Yearbook committee is also doing a cookie dough fundraiser.
  • Bob DuBois would like to start on the Basketball Program for this year. He was asked to contact the department head for the sports program.
  • Karen O’Donelle presented the school with laminated flu prevention posters to be displayed throughout the school.
  • Cindy McKeon requested to have a Norwich Tech Football Program under the Norwich Tech PFO/Booster Club. The program will support football fundraising efforts by both schools, Norwich Tech and St. Bernard‘s. Fundraising will be coordinated so that they will  not interfere with other NTHS fundraisers. It was made known that the
  • PFO will receive 10% of all money raise
  • The Norwich tech PFO must pre-approve all fundraisers and has the right to limit the number of fundraisers.
  • All money raised must be submitted to the NTHS PFO for total accountability.
  • Any/all documents utilized related to/under the NTHS PFO for any reason must be pre-approved by the Norwich Tech board.
  • In order to maintain good communication with the PFO and the Football Program a parent representative from each school will need to volunteer as either Co-Chairman’s or P.O.C.’s. The NTHS P.O.C.’s must attend at least two PFO meetings per year.
  • All expenditures must be pre-approved by the SBNT head football coach.
  • In the event there is no head coach the co-chairman/P.O.C.’s must equally agree on football expenditures of and emergent nature until a new head coach is in place.
  • All expenditures must be utilized for the SBNT Football Program, I.e. football equipment, concession stand start - up money/equipment, traditional team dinners prior to varsity games, etc.
  • All expenditures require a receipt be submitted to the HTHS PFO
  • In the event that the Co-Op between St. Bernard’s and NTHS is dissolved the SBNT Football Program Funds will be divided equally between the Norwich Tech Football Program and the St. Bernard’s Football Program after all Norwich Tech PFO Football liabilities have been accounted for and paid, if any.

 

Motion was made by Cindy McKeon to have the NTHS PFO sponsor a Norwich Tech Football Program, seconded by Arnie Giroux. All in favor

 

Principal’s Report: A successful start to the school year. More Freshman have been added. State still does not have a budget. Friday, October 16th there will be a Community Open House. Previously discussed craft fair has been cancelled. Mr. Hogan would like to know if the PFO can or will continue the Student of the Month Program.  All felt that September would not be a problem, thou in the future, it may have to be re-evaluated.
