Guidance and Admissions

Admissions Information

It is the policy of the Connecticut State Board of Education that no person shall be excluded from participating in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise discriminated against under any program, including employment, because of race, color, sex, national origin, religion, age,sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, mental retardation, or mental status.

Application for Admission

In order to be considered for admission to Emmett O'Brien, you must:

  • complete and file a signed application with your counselor; (Applications available in your Guidance Office.)
  • take the Connecticut Mastery Test or Emmett O'Brien Entrance Exam

Your school must include with the application the following data:

  • results of the 7th Grade Mastery Test
  • a transcript of previous and current grades
  • a record of previous and current attendance
  • a record of previous and current discipline infractions

Acceptance Criteria

  • Mastery Test or Entrance Exam Score - 42%
  • 7th or 8th Grade Grades - 48%
  • 7th or 8th Grade Attendance - 10%
