On Tuesday,
May 29th, a group of O'Brien Tech students and staff visited
the Goodrich Corporation in Danbury, Connecticut. The purpose
of the trip was to thank Goodrich for donating $3500.00 to help
pay expenses for the Automated Manufacturing Team from O'Brien
to compete in Kansas City in the SkillsUSA National Competition.
The students are Marc Proch - Manufacturing Technology, Anthony
Massafra - Manufacturing Technology and Cody Savoy - Computer-Aided
Drafting and Design. The students were also presented with baseball
jackets with their names embroidered on them. Also in attendance
were Mike Varonka--Manufacturing Department Head at O'Brien
and Marie Meresko--SkillsUSA Advisor at O'Brien. After receiving
the donation, the group were taken on a tour of the manufacturing
facilities where the Hubbell telescope was made.
