Students Build New Home in Columbia
Carpentry
students have been busy this year on a production assignment in
Columbia, Connecticut. Under the supervision of Department Head
Cliff Thomas and instructor Vincent Grimaldi, the students are
constructing a 2000 square foot contemporary colonial with 3 bedrooms,
a cathedral ceiling in the living and dining room areas, a cantilevered
balcony in the back and a walk out basement. The design calls
for a lot of engineered lumber such as Microlam beams, TGI joists
and OSB sheathing. Below are some photos of the students at work
on the project in the initial stages.
