The boys’ outdoor track team had a good season, winning
the CSC League Championship and placing 4th in the Class S team
standings.
From the beginning of the season, our relay teams proved they
were up to the task and set some early season standards. Our
4 x 400 relay consisted of Chris Rodriguez, Vincent Harrison, Rudy
Cowan and Josh Walton. The 4 x 100 sprinters were Mikell
Nobel, Jerome McPherson, Keriwane Huie and Josh Walton running
another anchor leg.
Most of the relay runners did double duty in individual events. Chris
Rodriguez ran the 800, 1600 and 3200. Rudy Cowan ran the
400 and 200. Josh Walton ran the 110 and 300 hurdles. Mikell
Nobel also ran both hurdles. Jerome and Kerwane were in the
long and high jumps.
In the weight events, Marcus Palmer and Julio Nieves threw the
shot and discuss.
Our runners finished out the season like they started with the
relay teams leading the way. Our 4 x 800 placed 4th in the
Class S. Vincent Harrison, Chris Rodgriquez, Rudy Cowan and
freshman J.R. Marquez, our 4 x 100, defeated a strong field, Mikell,
Jerome, Kerwane and Josh powered their way to the win. The
meet ended with our 4 x 400 relay of Vincent Harrison, Chris Rogriquez,
Rudy Cowan and Josh Walton winning a hard fought race.
This was a great season by the Falcon runners. Congratulations
and keep up the good work. |
