  • Disabled Worker Scholarship, Deadline, March 30, 2006. High school student whose parent is a totally disabled worker.  $1,250 a semester will be awarded must demonstrate both academic excellence and the financial need to go to college. See application for further information.

2.5 GPA, copy of FAFSA or Student aid Report, apply and attending a two or four year college.  See application packet. UP to $20,000.

  • There are 4 separate scholarships being offered by four of Connecticut’s premier human rights organizations, Triangle Community Center, Deadline April 21, 2006, HGLHC ( Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective) Deadline April 1,  2006, TRUE COLOR Scholarships &Hartford PFLAG ( Parents, Family and friends of Lesbians and Gays) Deadline April 15, Together they will be awarding a minimum of 3,500 to those students who are pursuing higher education.   • T. Clark Hull Public Service Scholarship: Deadline: April 28th 2006

Must be ACCEPTED and be attending CCSU, GPA 3.0, have demonstrated leadership. (if you haven’t been accepted then you can’t apply)

 

  • Pratt and Whitney Science and Technology Scholarship: Deadline: April 28th 2006

Must be ACCEPTED and be attending Western Connecticut State Univ. GPA 3.0 interest and excellence in science or technology.

 

  • MR. TUX Scholarship, Deadline May 1, 2006 Personal essay and two letters of recommendation required.

 

 

  • The Friendship Group of Hartford, Deadline May 5, 2006, Scholarships for students pursuing a higher level of education such as a bachelors, trade or technical degree.  Applicant must have a 3.0 (85) GPA, be involved in community and extracurricular activities.  Two letters of reference and a 500 word essay.

 

  • Connecticut Power and Energy Society Scholarship, Deadline May 5,2006, 5 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to qualified seniors who are attending college pursuing a career in the technical field, such as electrical or mechanical engineering or scientific studies.  See Mrs. Wells for the applications

 

  • The Connecticut Criminal Justice Educational Charitable Association, Deadline May 15, 2006, Two $1000 scholarship to be awarded.  Applicants must be pursuing a major in the public service fields, Criminal Justice, Nursing, education,  fire study, social work ect.  Must have been accepted into a college or institute of higher education.  Applications to come.

 

  • USS Connecticut Scholarship Program, Deadline May 15. 2006, Scholarships will be awarded to dependants of the USS Connecticut’ ships crew and to citizens of Connecticut.  If you are not a dependant you must be applying to a two or four year college or university in the state of CT.  See application for requirements. 

 

  • Connecticut TESOL Scholarship Application, Deadline May 31, 2006, Scholarship for seniors who were previously enrolled in ESOL or bilingual education classes who are attending a four year college. 

 

  • The Triangle Achievement Award Application, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Deadline June 1, 2006, Two scholarships will be awarded to male high school seniors who plan to attend the University of Connecticut- Storrs in the fall. 

 

  • The Connecticut Society of Respiratory Care, Deadline July 1, 2006, is giving away three $1,000 scholarships for any student planning on becoming a Respiratory Therapists.

 

  • Hispanic Dental Association Foundation, Deadline July 5, 2006, entry level Hispanic U.S. student who are entering the dental assisting, dental hygiene, or dental technician programs.  You must be accepted into the program for the fall of 2006.
