Our Philosophy

The Philosophy of Vinal Technical High School is to insure that students are provided with an educational environment which will lead to life-long learning and career opportunities.  Our staff is committed to provide a solid academic background with intensive occupational education and apprenticeship credit, which will provide students with the necessary skills for success in the world of work and postsecondary educational programs.

Vinal Technical High School is a community composed of students, teachers, administrators, and supportive staff who are encouraged to work together to respect and support each individual’s background and needs.  Our school community fosters an atmosphere that encourages all members to respect the worth and the dignity of each individual and to recognize that students differ in their social backgrounds, preferences and interests.  We recognize that variations exist among our student population encompassing educational experiences, levels of ability, degrees of preparation and learning styles.

Because the educational experience of students is a collective responsibility, Vinal Technical High School works in partnership with the community and the home to foster moral values and social awareness and to plan, initiate and provide programs and experiences so that students will develop the skills they need to accomplish their goals and fulfill their potential.

To meet the challenges of an ever-changing world, students are prepared to become members of a global community who are able to utilize current and emerging technologies as tools for learning, teaching, living and working.  To achieve this, students will need to possess skills in critical thinking, problem solving, informational gathering, cooperative learning, verbal and written communication, teamwork, technical proficiency, and computer literacy.
