Skills and Competencies

  • To aid the student in making wise career choices through a ninth grade exploratory program and academic and employability skills common to the Connecticut Career Clusters.
  • To help students develop marketable skills through rigorous academic, technical and workplace readiness programs. 
  • To assist students in becoming employed in their chosen technical career path.
  • To encourage and support the continuation of formal and informal postsecondary education.
  • To assist students in developing sound work habits, critical thinking and problem solving skills enabling them to become lifelong learners and valued employees.
  • To promote positive health habits which will contribute to the student’s total well being.
  • To help students develop an understanding and appreciation of our country’s democratic and multi-cultural heritage.
  • To provide students with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that will help to create a sense of community within the school.
  • To provide students with a safe and secure learning environment.
  • To encourage parental involvement in the student’s educational process through a parent-faculty organization and through the integration of technology.
