Skills and Competencies
- To aid the student in making wise career choices through a
ninth grade exploratory program and academic and employability
skills common to the Connecticut Career Clusters.
- To help students develop marketable skills through
rigorous academic, technical and workplace readiness
programs.
- To assist students in becoming employed in their chosen
technical career path.
- To encourage and support the continuation of formal and
informal postsecondary education.
- To assist students in developing sound work habits, critical
thinking and problem solving skills enabling them to become
lifelong learners and valued employees.
- To promote positive health habits which will contribute
to the student’s total well being.
- To help students develop an understanding and appreciation
of our country’s democratic and multi-cultural
heritage.
- To provide students with co-curricular and extra-curricular
activities that will help to create a sense of community
within the school.
- To provide students with a safe and secure learning environment.
- To encourage parental involvement in the student’s
educational process through a parent-faculty organization
and through the integration of technology.
- To facilitate teaching and learning through the integration
of technology.
- To continue to strengthen leadership and communication
skills of all members of the school community.
- To implement professional development programs which
support individual team, school and system objectives.
- To integrate the Connecticut employability skills into
educational programs to continue to strengthen relationships
with our business partners, government and local community.
