Students
from the Manufacturing and CADD technologies at Vinal Technical
High School were selected to participate in the Connecticut
Business & Industry Association’s (CBIA) Technology
and Engineering Challenge Program at Manchester Community
College.
The
sophomores, juniors and seniors that were selected will
spend four Saturdays exploring technologies and engineering,
fine-tuning their team building skills, participate in
leadership workshops and brush up on their technical writing
skills. All the students who complete the program
will receive a $300 stipend. The students selected
are Ben Engel, Stephanie Robinson, Ryan DiPace, Brandon
Hood, Chase White, Felisha Gaerner, Edward Tautkus, Adam
Schenk, Matthew Brechlin, Jamie Tafuto, Joel Smith, Lauren
Bradley, Justin Layman, Brittney Vice, Will Monarca, Chris
Dickinson, Matthew Barthel, Ken Demoranville, Rebecca Michaud,
Brittany Nichols, Nick Gotta, Robert Domenico, Freddy Weber,
Dakota Butler and Amber Henderson.
The program
is designed and run by the Birch Group LLC and the Technology and
Engineering Challenge Program was coordinated by CBIA’s Education
Foundation in cooperation with the Regional Center for Next Generation
Manufacturing, a program of the Connecticut Community College System’s
College of Technology. Funding was provided by the National
Science Foundation. |
