FACULTY ORGANIZATION
What
is the PFO?
The
PFO is a non-profit organization. Programs and fundraising events
that the PFO supports are developed and brought by PFO Officers
and Members comprised of Parents and Faculty of Vinal Tech High
School. Minutes of monthly meetings and financial statements are
available to the general public. An annual financial statement is
filed with the Internal Revenue Service.
Who
Belongs to the Vinal PFO?
Parents
like you! We have a president, Vice-president, Secretary and
Treasurer voted in by the members each fall when we meet for
the first time. Our current officers have been with the PFO since
their teenagers started as Vinal Freshmen. Our faculty liaison,
Bill Weidner, is the current PFO Vice-president and school psychologist
and has been with the PFO for 9 years. He will answer your questions
if you call him at 860-344-7100 ext. 328.
Parents
are Key to Our Activities
New
ideas, enthusiasm and time are the qualities parents like you bring
to our organization. We are an upbeat, informal and most importantly,
a fun group of parents.
Your
Time is Valuable
As
parents we empathize with requests for your time. We meet on
the first Wednesday of each month that school is in session
starting at 6:30 PM for about an hour in the school library/media
center.
The
Vinal PFO Is Committed to Vinal's Students!!
The
Vinal PFO works to fund a number of projects including:
Supporting a scholarship fund for the most improved senior in each
technology,
Lending financial support for students attending leadership activities
such as the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Program,
Lending financial support to students competing in Skills USA activities,
Supporting other school activities such as graduation and other
student achievements.
We
plan and decide on fund raising activities that are fun and worthwhile
to the parent and/or student community but with a goal of keeping
the activities as simple as possible.
WE
LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING YOU AS A VINAL PFO PARENT!
