On Thursday, November 1, 2007 every
sophomore student in the Hairdressing and Barbering
program participated in a Job Shadowing activity. All members of
the class were placed in salons to shadow employers who are members
of the Technical Advisory committee.
The
Job Shadowing experience is intended to give the student a brief
but all-inclusive overview of the daily workings of the business
as a precursor for training and eventual employment in that trade.
The salon experience enlightened the students about aspects of
the trade that will assist them in making a better career decision.
Many
of the salon owners are graduates of Vinal and have employed many
Vinal graduates. We thank the employers that so willingly support
Vinal Technical High School and the career oriented goals of the
students.
