On
September, 29 the Eli Whitney School Counseling and Admissions
Department along with the Culinary Department hosted its Annual
Counselor’s
Breakfast for Counselors and Administrators from all
of our sending elementary school districts. The event
was a great success! We
planned for 35 people to attend and every seat was filled,
by sixteen local School Counselors, one Principal,
the loyal Administrative Team, Special Education Department,
Social Worker, School Psychologist, Dean of Students, and the
entire Eli Whitney School Counseling Department.
The
main purpose of the breakfast is to enhance recruitment at Eli
Whitney This is done by informing Elementary & Middle School
counseling personal about Eli Whitney Technical High School and
the benefits of a Technical High School Education.
The
breakfast which is held every year is a great opportunity
for our Culinary Department to “show off” their exquisite
food. In addition, invited counselors learn all the relevant
information they will need in order to inform students
interesteed in attending Eli Whitney. Every counselor in attendance
stated they were impressed by the presentation, the students,
and the programs offered at Eli Whitney.
Mrs.
McEntire, our new School Counseling Coordinator, did a great
job highlighting the school's recent CAPT Scores, student success
stories, and announcing our community partnerships with Gateway
Community College, College Career Pathways, Developing Tomorrow’s
Professionals, and Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs,
