The
Computer Aided Drafting and Design students along with their
instructors Mr. Carpentier and Mr. Derbyshire visited the New
England Air Museum in Windsor Locks in October. The students
learned how the designs of the vintage planes contributed
to wind resistance and that over time the aircraft became more
aerodynamic. Another interesting fact that students learned
was that certain aircraft used during the World War II were
never painted to in order to reduce weight and increase fuel
millage. There are many examples of aircraft at the museum
spanning the evolution of flight. |
