Modular Construction Project
Sophomore Computer Aided Drafting andDesign students
recently constructed a miniature functional
roller coaster. The project required over 1000 individual parts
including gears, drive belt and a motor. The students utilized
team building skills, written and spatial comprehension as well
as geometric design to complete the project. Students included:
Kristopher Velasquez, Darnell Jackson, Estevan Rodriguez, Deshawn
Evans and Mr. Derbyshire CADD instructor.

Colonial Estate Project
As part of
their “hands on” training, Sophomore Computer
Aided Drafting & Design students also recently
completed a scale model of a Colonial estate mansion. The students
designed the model utilizing AutoCad software to create the floor
and elevations plans . The structure was built using balsa wood,
plywood, glue and paint. Students included: Kristopher Velasquez,
Darnell Jackson, Estevan Rodriguez, Deshawn Evans and Mr. Derbyshire
CADD instructor.
