Students from Derby High School along with instructors from ACES visited Eli Whitney to work on the planning stages of their web designs. Team members created flowcharts and storyboards depicting the structure and layout of their websites. They later posted the information into Blackboard in order to make it accessible to team members at a later date. ACES staff also led the teams into a variety of diversity training activities.
The next work session will be in February where Eli will travel to Derby High and begin the process of creating the planned designs utilizing Adobe software. Training sessions are a result of a technology grant awarded to both schools that allow them to work together to construct interactive websites. All website themes are aligned with identified areas of need in the CAPT.
Upon completion of the web design project, the sites will be hosted by ACES and judged using pre-defined criteria by a panel of Digital Design professors and students from Quinnipiac University. A culminating activity will be an Awards Celebration and a Career Fair in May, 2008. |
