Giselle
Ayala, a junior in the Culinary Arts Department, was awarded
a scholarship to participate in the Center for Creative Youth
Summer Arts Residency Program at Wesleyan University, a program
of the Capitol Region Education Council. From June 29th to
August 2nd this summer, Giselle will join 170 other talented
students from around the state and the country on the Wesleyan
Campus in Middletown Connecticut in the study of creative arts.
Students
can major in Theater, Creative Writing, Visual Arts, Photography,
Music, Dance, Filmmaking, Musical Theater, or Technical Theater. Giselle
will major in visual arts, and was selected based on an interview,
submission of 3 works of art, and a recommendation from her
art teacher, Ms. Wright. Students will focus on their
chosen major but will also participate in interdisciplinary
and elective classes in the other art fields. Leadership training
and a multicultural approach to the arts are an integral part
of the program. Congratulations and continued success to Giselle!
Have a wonderful summer! |
