Eli
Whitney celebrated its love of art and the talent of its many
students and staff members by holding its First Annual Art
Show on February 13th. Prior to the show, Art Show Club members
Lizbeth Rojas, Ana Torres, Jessica De LaRosa Chris Highsmith,
Tatiana Sanchez, Efrain Carillo, Sharonda Barnes,
Crystal Harris, Humberto Gonzales, Felix Cruz, Bianca Flecha, Erica
McQueen, Asia Matthews, Sheila Collado, Amanda
Roque, and Gloria Juarez worked diligently creating unique
posters, banners and flyers promoting the show.
Submissions
were open to all members of the school community, as well as
art work by those students currently enrolled in art classes.
We received entries from the school staff including photography,
fabric art, computer art, carvings and ceramics. Student
art work from all grade levels was also on display. The show
looked fabulous on opening night. The walls were filled with
drawings, scratch art, mixed media collages, pastels, charcoals,
and paintings. Exciting dioramas and sculptures created by the
3-dimensional design class filled the display tables. This exhibit
truly showed off the creativity and artistic abilities of Eli
Whitney students!
The
Art department would like to thank senior Shanteh Scott who dedicated
his evening to setting up and hosting the show. |
