Students Have a Ball Relieving CAPT Stress
Most students feel stressed during testing, and CAPT is no exception! Ms. McKenna showed her students a positive way to relieve stress by making stress balls. Students learned a constructive way to release test-taking anxiety and had fun in the process. Below is the “recipe” for making stress balls if you would like to make one for yourself.
Stress Balls
Materials:
Small balloons (water balloons do not work)
Small funnels (can be made by rolling a piece of poster paper into a cone)
Cornstarch or Flour
Thin ribbon (I used the school colors)
Stickers & markers (to decorate the ball)
Instructions:
1. Blow air into the balloon until it is about 5-inches in diameter. Do not immediately tie the top.
2. Hold your fingers about an inch below the top and insert the funnel into the balloon.
3. Pour cornstarch or flour through the funnel, into the balloon, until you reach the desired size.
4. Tie the balloon tightly, then wrap with ribbon.
5. Use the stickers and your imagination to make the stress ball colorful.
Now squeeze your stress away!!!
