Sub-Saharan Africa has the largest ratio of working children: nearly one-third of children age 14 and under (48 million children)

8.4 million Children are trapped in slavery, trafficking, debt bondage, prostitution, pornography and other illicit activities

Most children work in the formal sector;
70% in agriculture, commercial hunting, fishing or forestry;
8% in manufacturing;
8% in wholesale and retail trade, restaurants and hotels;
7% in community, social and personal service, such as domestic work.

You need to come up with a campaign to contribute to the global effort to stop the use of child laborers. Your assignment is to create an organization that will put an end to child labor in the world.  In groups of 3, you need to create...

• A group name and logo
• Make sure it conveys your groups overall message
• The logo must be colorful and done on plain white paper
• The organization’s mission statement
• Who is your group and what does your organization want to accomplish? (such as: “END CHILD LABOR”)
• Explain your mission in at least one paragraph long
• Long and short term goals for the organization
• How are you going to get your message across?
• Include at least 1 long-term and 3 short-term goals
• Identify other organizations to collaborate (work) with
• Who can help you achieve your goal?  Be specific
• Come up with a public relations campaign to inform the school and public about your organization
• How are you going to get your message out to the rest of the world?
• Describe public relations in at least one paragraph long

On Monday, December 3rd, you will briefly share your campaign with the class and turn in ALL of the above project components.
