| The
Health Technology Department invited the Breath Express, sponsored
by the American Lung Association, to Eli Whitney’s parking
lot on May 17, 2007. Students of all grades were able to tour the
trailer which had displays and information about the harm smoking
causes and learned about other respiratory diseases, such as asthma.
The students were able to learn the importance of taking care of
their lungs and the air we breath. They gained insights into why
it is best to avoid smoking and other harmful factors that cause
respiratory diseases. Eli Whitney’s Health Technology goal
is to educate the public about health related issues. |
