For the second year in a row, students from Eli Whitney helped run a community Halloween Party in the Wooster Street area of New Haven. The students set up and ran the event sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 65. The students donated their time as they worked the different booths which included an arts and crafts table and various games where the children had a chance to win prizes. This was a free event for those who attended, most of whom were children ranging from ages two to seven years.
Matt
Abbott, the Event Coordinator, stated that during the planning
stages of this year’s event, it was decided that the students’ assistance
was essential for another successful event: "We had decided to make the event larger this year and we knew we would not be able to if we did not have the volunteers from Eli Whitney.”
The Students from Eli Whitney had as much fun as all the children who attended. |
