Another
exciting adventure awaited the Outdoor Adventure Club on
the most recent activity day. This time approximately
28 adventurous Eli Whitney students jumped on buses and went
to the Louis Astorino skating rink. It was an overwhelming
success. Students had the facility for their exclusive
use.
Rich Shultz, Jr., and Harry Crescenti were able to use
their hockey skills to teach the basics
to some
students who had never been on blades before. By the
end of the session, some students made it all around
the rink! There
were lots of ups and downs during the skating session, but even
the downs were fun.
It
was enjoyable to just lighten up and be able laugh at yourself
if you fell down. Everyone’s pride was soothed
by a cup of hot cocoa at the end of the session. Eli
students proved once again that they’re always up to
the challenge of something new or different. |
