The
National Honor Society held a school-wide drive the entire
month of December for aluminum tabs. The goal for
this year was to collect 3000 aluminum tabs from soda,
juice or vegetable cans to donate to the local Ronald McDonald
House. Large contributions came
from freshman Nancy Rodriguez and senior Janitza Ayala
along with their families. Many
teachers supported the effort as well. One teacher
in particular, Ms. T. McAloon went above and beyond by
involving her friends in the drive. With everyone’s
support, over 15,000 aluminum tabs were collected! Ronald
McDonald House will receive approximately $.10 for each
tab. All
of the money is used for the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut
to support the families of children
who are undergoing medical treatment.
The National Honor Society thanks everyone who was able to contribute so many tabs this year! |
