| A prime function
of the Guidance Department is to help students begin a realistic
appraisal of their abilities, achievements, interests and values
so that they will be better able to make intelligent, personal,
occupational, and educational decisions. All students need to
be aware of the alternatives to and consequences of their decisions,
and a counselor will provide them an opportunity to assess their
situations.
The Guidance Office uses
College View and Career View computer software. Here students
will find information on careers, colleges, financial aid and
scholarship service, and military careers.
In addition to the services
listed above, the Guidance Department maintains a library of catalogs
and vocational information for students' use. These catalogs include
those on vocational programs and two and four year college brochure.
