Wilcox Tech Administrator Named CTHSS Assistant
Principal of the Year
Wilcox Tech's own Mr. Russell Duffy
has been selected as the Assistant Principal of the Year for the
Connecticut Technical High School System (CTHSS). Duffy was nominated
by other administrators in the system and had to go through a selection
process that included interviews with finalists. Fittingly, he
began his career at Wilcox in 1988 as a Math teacher. In 1995 he
was selected the Teacher of the Year at Wilcox for his kind and
caring attitude he brought to the classroom. He then took on a
administrator position at other schools in the system and then
returned back to Wilcox four years ago.
According to his colleagues, Duffy
is great with the students, a team player and very talented in
developing student schedules. In fact, he has been called upon
by the school system to lend his expertise in setting up schedules
for classes. Richard Cavallaro, Principal of Wilcox Tech, said
that Duffy is a key member of the staff. " He makes my life easier,"
said Cavallaro.
Duffy along with other CTHSS honorees
will be recognized at the annual Celebration of Excellence held on
Wednesday, October 17th. Congratulations, Mr. Duffy from the Wilcox
Tech community.
