African drumming, Chinese Classical
music and Mexican Mariachi music all could be heard at Wilcox Tech
on Friday, June 6th as part of the Annual Multicultural Day Celebration
at the school. Coordinated by instructors Zayra Rivera and Maggie
Testa, the day gives students and staff the opportunity to learn
about and enjoy the diversity of cultures in their school and around
the world.
The day also included a Latin Dance workshop, a Native American
potato dance competition, belly dancing as well as a Greek Dance
demonstration by students. Displays on countries from every corner
of the world were also featured in the gym. Principal Richard Cavallaro
said that the day was a great way for students to appreciate the
richness of every culture represented at the school. |
