| Who
we are: To all our new parents just joining us this year,
we'd like to introduce ourselves. The PFO is a nonprofit parent
faculty organization whose membership includes all parents, legal
guardians and faculty at Wilcox Technical High School .
What
we do: We provide academic scholarships for college bound
students and tool scholarships for students planning on going directly
into their trade after graduation. We also provide teacher enhancements,
for example in the past we have given funds to the sports teams,
skills USA and teachers for classroom materials.
Why
we need you: Being a member of the PFO means that you have
face-to face contact with the principal or assistant principals
to ask questions, get information and discuss what's going on in
the school. We want to improve Wilcox through your ideas, leadership
and creativity. This is your opportunity to voice your concerns
and to meet other parents and faculty.
Did
you know: That the No Child Left Behind Law states that
the PFO organization must be part of the school decision making
process? Also, the PFO does not receive state funding so its up
to us to generate the money we need for scholarships and enhancements.
Is
there a fee? Yearly dues are $5.00 per family.
When
do we meet? We meet the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm.
Hope to see you at our meetings!
